CUT TO:
EXT. WILDERNESS- DAY
Sabastion's car sits on the side of the road with the hood up, steam rising.
Jazmine and Sabastian sit by the side of the car.
JAZMINE
Sorry about your car, dude. If the low oil light was so important you think they would put
a buzzer on there or make it flash or something.
SABASTION
Don't worry about it. She was an old car and it was her time to die. Someone will pass by
soon to help us.
JAZMINE
That's what I'm thinking.
Jazmine looks around.
JAZMINE
Hey where's Gabe? Gabe! Gabe!
Gabe is in the other side of the road peeing.
JAZMINE
Gabe! Get over here.
Gabe looks back and awkwardly finishes. He runs back to Jazmine.
JAZMINE
I told you stay here, what if you got hit by a car?
GABE
Oh ah, yeah sorry.
Jazmine feels bad she scolded Gabe and plays with his hair, she scratches his ear-
CU: Gabe's worn out tennis shoes moves up and down like a dog's hind leg.
JAZMINE
You're all I have Gabe, I can't lose you. (To Sabastion) So how did you lose your leg?
SABASTION
It was on the night I lost my wife-
Gabe taps Jazmine on the shoulder.
JAZMINE
Yes Gabe what is it?
GABE
Oh, I was just wondering, ah, maybe I could see if I could find anything to eat around
here, even if it was like a plant.
JAZMINE
Stay close.
GABE
Oh, oh yeah, OK.
Gabe wanders off into the field next to the car.
SABASTION
He's good to you.
JAZMINE
Yeah, been my best friend for years.
SABASTION
My wife was my best friend.
JAZMINE
Was?
SABASTION
It's very hard for me to talk about it.
JAZMINE
Okay.
Jazmine puts on her headphones. She jams to the music.
JAZMINE
Gabe! Watch out for snakes!
Gabe gives a thumbs up.
CUT TO:
EXT. MEXICAN HIGHWAY- DAY
Elena, in a sexy white dress walks down the road with her thumb in the air.
Gary and Selso drive up and pull up alongside her.
SELSO
Hey cutie, you need a ride?
Elena smiles and pulls her dress up a bit.
ELENA MORENO
I need a ride. And then maybe you could ride me.
Selso looks her up and down and then turns to Gary.
SELSO
Gary?
GARY
It's our lucky day.
SELSO
Gary we don't ever get lucky. We've been partners in crime for ten years Gary and in all
that time we have never gotten lucky. In fact, we're extremely unlucky.
GARY
Good things happen to those who wait, Selso. And good things happen to good people.
SELSO
But we're rotten people, Gary.
GARY
Look buddy, if I didn't think that one day I'd pick up a sex crazed hitchhiking bitch that
was hot just walking down a road alone, a woman that would give the two of us a night of
crazy passion for nothing more than a ride to the next town, then I don't know if this
life is worth living. Sometimes dreams do come true.
ELENA
You two want me or what?
SELSO
Uh, okay.
ELENA
Let's go.
Elena gets in.
CUT TO:
EXT. THE CAPTAIN'S MANSION- DAY
From the main road, the mansion is in the distance. Dewey, Yauria and Tamaledo look at the
house, Yauria has binoculars.
DEWEY
He still there?
YAURIA
Si. He has a woman with him.
DEWEY
We'll have to wait.
Dewey cracks a beer, and then notices Tamaledo getting ready to eat a big jalapeno.
Tamaledo offers one to Dewey, he refuses.
DEWEY
You know that's gotta come out of you, too.
Tamaledo smiles as he starts to sweat from the heat of the pepper. Tamaledo cracks a beer
and drinks it down.
YAURIA
(shaking her head)
Borachos.
DEWEY
Come here.
Dewey holds Yauria as they look on to The Captain's mansion.
YAURIA
Are we ready?
Dewey lets go and walks to his trunk. He tosses out Jazmine's, Gricel's and Gabe's bags.
DEWEY
Getting rid of this shit. That's where that fucking beer went! (Dewey pulls out a half
empty twelve pack) I told you there was beer in here, Tamaledo. I said you gotta keep
looking. Okay, we got the axe (Dewey hands an axe to Yauria) and we got the dynamite.
YAURIA
(holding the axe)
Whose bags are those, Dewey?
DEWEY
The hitchhikers I was telling you about.
YAURIA
They better be, boy.
Yauria steps away and Dewey grabs her, holding onto her reassuringly.
DEWEY
Yauria, you're the only woman I want. You know that. Just like I know I am the
only man you want.
Unbeknownst to Dewey, Yauria smiles at the last part of this.
DEWEY
Tamaledo, hand me that camera in the trunk.
Tamaledo gets back in the trunk and hands Dewey a surveillance camera. Dewey gets it set
pointed at the road where The Captain's driveway starts.
CUT TO:
INT. ANOTHER CHEAP HOTEL- DAY
Gary and Selso sit on the bed both out of breath.
GARY
Where the hell did she come from?
SELSO
Hell would be my guess, Gary.
GARY
What do you think she's doing in there?
SELSO
I don't know. She's been in the can for fifteen minutes.
Selso gets up and knocks at the bathroom door.
SELSO
Elena! You ok in there? Elena?
No Reply.
Selso knocks again.
SELSO
Elena! I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed what you did.
You were very considerate and attentive.
Selso knocks.
SELSO
Maybe she's taking a nap.
Selso turns around, Elena is behind Gary with a knife.
ELENA MORENO
You bastards will not kill my Captain.
GARY
Huh?
SELSO
She's got a knife, Gary.
Elena lunges, Gary turns, she misses, Gary slaps her in the face.
GARY
Ooh, bitch wants to shiv me?
Elena thrusts at Gary again with the knife.
SELSO
Watch that bitch, Gary!
Gary smacks her in the face again.
GARY
Fuck you.
SELSO
Yeah.
Elena lunges again, Gary grabs her arm and turns the knife into her gut, stabbing her,
pushing the knife all the way in. Elena goes limp and Gary lets her fall to the ground.
SELSO
Shit man.
GARY
Fucking crazy ass bitch.
SELSO
Huh!
Gary grabs Elena's purse and fishes for her ID. Looking at it he reads:
GARY
Elena Moreno Del Tigre.
Gary pulls money from her purse and stuffs it in his pocket.
CU: Elena's face as she dies. She whispers "Captain" over and over.
CUT TO:
EXT. THE CAPTAIN'S MANSION- BACK DECK- DAY
Gricel staggers out onto the deck, a little hung-over. The Captain looks out over his land
with a sad look on his face. Gricel puts her arms around him.
GRICEL
Hey lover, what's wrong?
THE CAPTAIN
Elena.
Gricel takes her arms from around him.
GRICEL
(jealous)
Who's Elena?
THE CAPTAIN
Just a friend.
Gricel steps away as her hangover gives way to images of the night before.
GRICEL
Oh my God! Where's Jazmine? What the hell am I doing here with you?
THE CAPTAIN
Jazmine is fine. She's on her way back home now.
GRICEL
(recalling)
How? We left her, you made me leave her. You made me leave my sister.
THE CAPTAIN
We left to the parking lot, but we went back, don't you remember? We sent Jazmine and her
friend on a plane late last night.
GRICEL
We didn't, I know we didn't. The last time I talked to her was at the bar.
THE CAPTAIN
Use the phone inside, call her if you don't trust me. If you think I'm a liar, Gricel.
GRICEL
You're not a liar. I'm sorry, I just don't remember it.
THE CAPTAIN
Gricel, you have had such stress. I want you to relax and remember what we talked about
last night.
GRICEL
(embarrassed)
Oh God, what was that?
THE CAPTAIN
That you would stay with me, as my guest, for just a few days. And in month or so I would
come and visit you, when everything in your life is settled. What Dewey did to you, must
hurt so much. You told me all about it, Gricel. I'm sorry Dewey hurt you so badly.
GRICEL
I must have been really wasted.
THE CAPTAIN
I didn't notice, you handle yourself so well. But now, please go and call your sister.
Verify what I have said to you. She may be at home this very moment.
GRICEL
Well, I think I'm going to get some coffee first.
THE CAPTAIN
Gricel?
GRICEL
Yes?
THE CAPTAIN
Would you bring me some coffee too? I'm paying for all the fun we had last night.
GRICEL
Of course.
They kiss.
CUT TO:
INT. ANOTHER CHEAP MOTEL- DAY
Gary and Selso look over Elena's dead body.
SELSO
We could cut her into pieces and hide the parts.
GARY
I'd rather just leave her, who has time for cutting her up?
SELSO
Maybe we should just stuff her under the bed.
GARY
Huh. It'd be easier.
Hess appears in the corner.
MARTIN HESS
You bastards killed Elena Moreno.
GARY
No shit Hess, what clued you in? Just the dead bitch laying on the floor with a knife in
her gut?
MARTIN HESS
My patience with you, Two Trips, is at it's end.
Hess raises his hand, he walks fast towards Gary's head.
GARY
Give it to him, Selso!
Selso pulls out a water bottle filled with Holy Water and
sprays Hess with it. Hess yells in agony, wiping at his eyes, his glasses fall to the
ground. Gary stamps on them.
SELSO
Ha Ha Ha!
MARTIN HESS
Bastards!
Gary slugs Hess in the gut, Selso smashes a lamp across his head.
Hess groans and falls to the floor.
GARY
What a puss, man.
SELSO
Check it out.
Selso pulls a wad of hundreds from Hess' coat.
GARY
Selso, you and I make one hell of a team.
SELSO
I agree, Gary. I'm sorry for saying how unlucky we are.
GARY
Don't even worry. Let's kill this fucker Hess.
SELSO
Okay.
Hess' body disapears.
SELSO
Ooh.
GARY
Well let's just smoke some coke then.
SELSO
Way ahead of ya, partner.
Selso hands Gary a coke foil.
CUT TO:
INT. THE CAPTAIN'S MANSION- DAY
SHOT: Gricel showers.
SHOT: The Captain enters the shower with her.
EXT. THE CAPTAIN'S MANSION- DAY
The Captain and Gricel drive away in a convertible.
CUT TO:
EXT. THE CAPTAIN'S MANSION- DAY
Dewey, Yauria and Tamaledo walk onto the back deck. Dewey has the axe in his hand and
Tamaledo is carrying a box of dynamite.
DEWEY
(to Tamaledo)
About time the fucking guy left. In here all day probably just fucking that broad. Did you
see her when they drove past? Lucky fucker.
Dewey doesn't realize what he said but Yauria heard it and doesn't appreciate the comment.
YAUIRA
Nice house. The Captain must be very rich.
DEWEY
I'm sure he has a mortgage. Cheap construction too.
Dewey kicks the banister, it wobbles.
DEWEY
Just as I thought. Very cheap.
Yauria leans back onto the house and smiles at Dewey.
YAURIA
Will you buy me a house like this, Dewey?
DEWEY
Is this what you want?
YAURIA
You're what I want, boy.
Dewey is locked into Yauria's eyes, he moves in for a kiss but she motions for Dewey to
look back at Tamaledo.
TAMALEDO
Chili! Chili! Chili!
Tamaledo shit walks around the deck holding the box of dynamite.
TAMALEDO
Chili! Chili!
DEWEY
Whoa, let me take that.
Dewey takes the box of dynamite from Tamaledo who now is in real intestinal trouble.
DEWEY
Yauria, you want to try to get that door open?
Yauria pulls on it, it's locked.
DEWEY
Yauria, this guy is in some trouble.
TAMALEDO
Chile! Chile! Chile!
Dewey pulls the door so hard the lock breaks and Tamaledo rushes inside.
CUT TO:
EXT. CLOTHING STORE- DAY
The Captain and Gricel shop for new clothes for her.
EXT. MINI GOLF COURSE- DAY
The Captain holds Gricel as she puts.
INT. RESTAURANT- DAY
The Captain and Gricel laugh as they have dinner.
CUT TO:
EXT. A BUS DEPOT- DAY
Sheila and Boxhead approach a bus and tap on the door. It opens, a nice older BUS DRIVER
looks out.
SHEILA
Excuse me, sir. Is this the bus to Cincinnati?
BUS DRIVER
Si.
SHEILA
How much for me and old Boxhead to ride with you?
BUS DRIVER
(in Spanish)
I'm sorry, there are no more seats.
SHEILA
Ohh! Just a moment, sir.
Sheila turns her back on the bus driver and speaks to Boxhead.
SHEILA
We'll have to hijack this bus, Boxhead. Me's just knows that rotten old Captain fella is
in Cincinnati, call it me rat's intuition. I'll smack the driver in the privates and you
bash his head in.
BOXHEAD POV: The bus driver can clearly see and hear what Sheila is saying.
Sheila turns around and the bus driver closes the door.
SHEILA
Dang! He outsmarted us, Boxhead. Maybe I should try again.
Sheila bangs on the door again. It opens.
SHEILA
Is this the bus to Cincinnati?
BUS DRIVER
Si.
SHEILA
How much for me an old Boxhead here to ride?
BUS DRIVER
(in Spansih)
There are no more seats.
At this moment Sheila has forgotten she just had this conversation.
SHEILA
Ooh, just one moment, sir.
Sheila turns away again and back to Boxhead.
SHEILA
We're gonna have to hijack this bus, Boxhead.
The Bus Driver closes the door and drives away.
SHEILA
Dang!
CUT TO:
INT. THE CAPTAIN'S MANSION- DAY
Yauria and Dewey rig the mansion with dynamite and lay fuse wire out a window onto the
back deck. Dewey is on a cell phone call to Sue.
DEWEY
(into phone)
You're sure the lights are off every night at nine?
Sue ruffles through satellite images of the mansion, not really understanding any of them.
SUE
(V.O.)
Oh, well uh, I bet he would be, he would be in bed by nine pm sir.
DEWEY
(into phone)
Yes or no, Sue, don't be fucking around with this.
SUE
(into phone)
Yes! The answer is yes!
DEWEY
(into phone)
Well he has a woman with him. I can smell her perfume. It's what Gricel used to wear.
Can you pull up the camera on the road?
SUE
(V.O.)
Yes, I have it right now, sir.
DEWEY
(into phone)
When he drives past, call me.
SUE
(V.O.)
Absolutely, Mr. Beers.
DEWEY
(into phone)
This is a fragile situation Sue.
SUE
(into phone)
I'm not leaving the monitor for anything, sir.
DEWEY
(into phone)
You better not.
Dewey hangs up with her. Sue takes a deep breath and stares at the monitor. No one is
driving past. She keeps watching, then looks over at her dolls. She plays with the dolls
hair and soon ignores the monitor all together.
CUT TO:
INT. THE CAPTAIN'S MANSION- SUNSET
Yauria lays a fuse along the hallway as Tamaledo walks out of the bathroom.
TAMALDO
(in Spanish)
I'm sorry but that toilet is now plugged. I tried to fix it, but I didn't.
YAURIA
Just shut the door.
Tamaledo shuts the door and walks away. Dewey walks up and grabs Yauria's hand, they walk
into the living room.
DEWEY
Well this placed is wired, we're gonna blow it and The Captain to hell.
YAURIA
And so who gets the axe? Who cuts off The Captain's head, you?
DEWEY
You want to cut his head off? I'll light the fuse and when he runs out you can kill him,
that makes sense.
Yauria picks up a framed picture of The Captain.
YAURIA
Wow, this is The Captain? He's cute. Chitiquito.
DEWEY
(jealous)
I'll use the axe.
YAURIA
Mmh, lo siento El Captitain. I'm sorry you have to die.
DEWEY
He works for the Devil, Yauria.
YAURIA
Who doesn't?
Yauria sets the picture down and walks around the room. Dewey comes up and punches the
picture, breaking the glass.
DEWEY
You know, we don't have to do things like this anymore. We can just walk away and live our
lives together.
YAURIA
In a place like this?
DEWEY
Better than this.
YAURIA
You would buy me a mansion?
DEWEY
You are the most important part of my life. I would buy you anything.
Yauria stops walking away from Dewey and allows him to hold onto her.
CUT TO:
EXT. THE CAPTAIN'S MANSION- SUNSET
Tamaledo comes out of The Captain's mansion with three beers, he hands one to Yauria, one
to Dewey and keeps one for himself.
DEWEY
Alright, we light the fuse, blow out the two walls and when The Captain comes rushing out-
then it's the axe. Just as soon as this guy gets home.
YAURIA
We should have eaten before we came.
DEWEY
You getting hungry, doll?
YAURIA
Si I am.
DEWEY
Well I'm sure The Captain has something in his fridge.
As Dewey is about to get up he notices Lane pulling up on his ten speed. He parks it at
the side.
LANE
Ola amigos!
Lane steps onto the deck carrying and eating a bag of granola mix.
DEWEY
Shit.
YAURIA
Bueno.
LANE
(in Spanish)
With as little as Dewey knows about the Spanish language and Mexican culture, I'm
surprised you guys found the place.
Both Tamaledo and Yauria laugh at this.
LANE
I bet he even thinks Tamaledo is your real name.
Tamaledo and Yauria laugh again and nod.
DEWEY
Feel free to hang out if you want, Lane, but as you know I have rights to the kill now.
LANE
You have the rights, or does she? I didn't see you sign in as partners.
DEWEY
We're sharing.
LANE
Ok. (To Yauria in Spanish) He's your partner, Yauria?
YAURIA
Si. He is my partner.
LANE
I'm just an observer then, watching your back.
CUT TO:
EXT. HIGHWAY- DUSK
Sabastian's old car is the only thing on the highway.
A car drives up and passes.
EXT. HIGHWAY- DUSK
Jazmine and Sabastian sit next to his car.
JAZMINE
I can't believe no one will stop for us.
SABASTION
I'm sorry for my bad luck, Jazmine. If it weren't for me you'd have your sister back by
now.
JAZMINE
You know what dude? I'm gonna just keep thinking good thoughts. She's alright. I'm sure
she is.
SABASTION
If she's half the woman you are, she'll be just fine.
Jazmine knows she is being hit on, and doesn't know what to say about it. Gabe taps her on
the shoulder.
JAZMINE
Yes Gabe, what it is it?
GABE
Uh Jazmine, uh, I've been looking around and all I could find to eat are the lizards that
are in this bag.
Gabe holds up a bag that is wiggling.
JAZMINE
Yuck.
GABE
They look really tasty.
Sabastion motions for the bag, Gabe hands it over. Sabastion peeks inside and is a little
afraid.
SABASTION
I do not think you should eat these lizards.
GABE
Ok.
SABASTION
Senior, these lizards are poisonous, it's best you kill them before they bite someone.
GABE
Uh, well a couple of them already bit me.
Gabe starts to giggle.
JAZMINE
Dude, are you high?
GABE
Uh-huh.
Jazmine notices a car driving up. Gabe yanks the bag back from Sabastion and runs away.
JAZMINE
Ooh, car!
Jazmine runs up to the highway and flags the approaching new red truck down.
Gary and Selso pull up in Sabastion's red pick-up. Sabastion is sitting so that he can see
none of this.
Jazmine runs up to them and leans inside the window.
JAZMINE
Would you please help us out?
GARY
Fuck you, we've already had a fling with one crazy bitch today.
SELSO
Murderous tramp.
JAZMINE
Do you at least have some food and water you'd give us?
SELSO
We're not giving you a goddamn thing.
JAZMINE
Then why did you stop?
SELSO
The jewelry.
JAZMINE
Jewelry?
GARY
You're jewelry.
Jazmine takes off her ring and bracelet and hands it over. A necklace dangles from her
neck, she covers it.
SELSO
The necklace?
GARY
Let her keep it.
SELSO
Ok.
JAZMINE
Thank you.
Gary laughs as Selso yanks it anyway. They speed off.
Jazmine walks back over to Sabastion.
SABASTION
They wouldn't help?
JAZMINE
They robbed me.
SABASTION
Bastards!
Jazmine agrees and then looks at Gabe.
JAZMINE
Dude, what are you doing?
Gabe has stuck his hand in the bag and is letting the lizards bite him over and over.
GABE
(laughs)
Oh, uh, nothing.
SABASTION
Our luck will turn, Jazmine. I can tell you are a good woman and good things are supposed
to happen to you.
JAZMINE
Dude, that's what I think! Ooh, there's another car up there!
SABASTION
Stay put, Jazmine.
Sabastion pulls himself to the edge of his car and waits. Footsteps over the rocks get
louder.
SABASTION
We will not be robbed again. I promise I will protect you Jazmine, even if it costs me my
life.
As the footsteps get louder Sabastion uses all of his strength to roll over and set up on
his knees. He SCREAMS at the top of his lungs at the intruder and only then realizes it's
an OLD WOMAN with THREE YOUNG BOYS who have come to help. Scared, the boys cry, the Old
Woman jumps back and holds the boys.
Jazmine steps out from behind the car.
JAZMINE
No no no, don't be scared. Uh, seniorita? Uh, would you please help us out?
Jazmine accidentally steps on Sabastion's hand, he SCREAMS again, causing the kids to
SCREAM again.
The Old Woman hurries the kids up the hillside back to her old truck.
JAZMINE
Ma'am! Seniorita! We're not bad people!
Gabe rushes past Jazmine and up the hill after the Old Woman.
GABE
Hey! I've got lizards! Lizards! Lizards!
The Old Woman turns and punches Gabe. He quickly falls to the ground.
CUT TO:
INT. THE CAPTAIN'S MANSION- KITCHEN- DUSK
Lane, Tamaledo and Yauria sit at the table. Lane tells them a story in Spanish, which
again has Tamaledo and Yauria laughing.
Dewey stands at the stove cooking SOMETHING in a pot, but gets madder and madder listening
to the laughter. Dewey grabs ham and mustard from the fridge and adds it to his mix, but
then tosses it across the counter, he finally gets so mad he grabs a beer from The
Captain's fridge and walks away.
EXT. THE CAPTAIN'S MANSION- DECK- DUSK
Dewey walks out and calls Sue.
INT. DEWEY BEERS INC.- DUSK
Sue has long given up on watching the monitor and instead plays on the floor with her
dolls. The phone rings and she quickly stands to answer it.
SUE
(into phone)
Dewey Beers Inc.
DEWEY
(into phone)
You watching that monitor, Sue?
SUE
(into phone)
Oh, well yeah.
DEWEY
(into phone)
Keep watching it.
Sue hangs up looks at the monitor for a second and then at her dolls and decides to start
playing again. We HOLD on the monitor as The Captain's car passes.
EXT. THE CAPTAIN'S MANSION- DECK- DUSK
Dewey chugs his beer and nearly chokes as he sees The Captain's car pull in the drive.
Dewey runs back inside the mansion. The Captain's car parks and he and Gricel step out.
The Captain leads Gricel up the back deck and inside.
CUT TO:
INT. THE CAPTAIN'S KITCHEN- NIGHT
The Captain and Gricel walk through on their way to the bedroom, The Captain stops and
looks at the mess Dewey has made. Gricel notices as well and is taken aback by it.
GRICEL
Dude. You need a maid.
THE CAPTAIN
Yes it would appear that I do need a maid. I'm sorry you have to see my messy habits,
Gricel.
Nervously The Captain looks around, knowing assassins could be anywhere.
GRICEL
No biggie. Just let me use the little girl's room and then you and I are gonna have some
fun!
THE CAPTAIN
I can't wait.
Gricel steps into the bathroom and steps right back out.
GRICEL
You know, (beat) I'm not trying to be critical here or anything, but really, there are
some things that you can let go and then there are some things that need to be fixed right
away.
THE CAPTAIN
Forgive me, Gricel, what are you talking about?
GRICEL
You don't have to lie to me. You know what you did in there.
The Captain walks into the bathroom and like Gricel walks right back out, his legs tremble
as he clutches the wall.
GRICEL
Hey I'm sorry to bring it up, I think tomorrow we'll get to work on changing your diet.
Fiber, dude!
THE CAPTAIN
My diet, yes, I do eat like a pig, Gricel.
GRICEL
Well you sure treat you're toilet like one.
The Captain takes the humiliation. Gricel realizes she has went too far, she cuddles The
Captain.
GRICEL
Let me change for you so we can have some fun tonight.
CUT TO:
EXT. THE CAPTAIN'S MANSION- NIGHT
Tamaledo pokes his head up from a lounge chair to spy inside the back patio door.
DEWEY
What's he doing?
TAMALEDO
(in Spanish)
He's looking around suspiciously, I think he knows we're here.
DEWEY
(to Yauria)
What did he say?
YAURIA
You better light the fuse, Dewey.
INT. THE CAPTAIN'S MANSION- NIGHT
The Captain looks around the room again.
LOOKING OUT: As The Captain is about to look his way Tamaledo and Dewey DUCK.
Gricel walks up, dressed in a gorgeous evening gown.
GRICEL
Hey, what a day, huh?
THE CAPTAIN
It was beautiful, Gricel. You made it very special for me.
GRICEL
Are you ready to take me out for the night? Let me call my sis and then we can go.
The Captain grabs Gricel's arm.
THE CAPTAIN
Gricel, could we just spend time here together? I feel very selfish tonight, Gricel, I
want you all to myself.
GRICEL
Of course we can just stay here.
THE CAPTAIN
I can't tell you how precious this time with you is to me.
GRICEL
Really?
THE CAPTAIN
Gricel, I want to make love to you and then hold you all night, outside looking up at the
stars.
Gricel collapses into The Captain's arms.
The camera pans to the back deck door glass. Dewey is clearly visible.
EXT. THE CAPTAIN'S MANSION- DUSK
DEWEY
You slut!
Tamaledo hands Dewey the fuse but he waives it away. Yauria stands up.
YAURIA
Did you light it?
TAMALEDO
(in Spanish)
He can't do it.
YAURIA
Why can't you do it? This is why we came!
DEWEY
He still has the woman with him.
YAURIA
Just kill the hooker and let's go, Dewey.
Dewey stands still as he watches The Captain and Gricel together.
YAURIA
Give me the damn fuse.
Yauria goes to grab it but Dewey holds it away from her.
DEWEY
We'll do this another way. Let's get a drink.
LANE
I'll do it.
DEWEY
You're not doing a goddamn thing.
LANE
Whoa. Alright, I thought that was the whole point.
Hess walks up onto the deck.
HESS
My, my, my. I never expected you to get this far this fast. I underestimated you. Dynamite
as well, and an axe? Sinister indeed.
YAURIA
(upset)
Well we're not going to kill him now.
HESS
No, not with Gricel inside, right Dewey Beers? With how much history you and Gricel have.
Yauria looks away.
YAURIA
You know that woman, Dewey?
DEWEY
Well Yauria, I have never seen before, and that's the truth.
HESS
He is engaged to her. All the time he is at home he has her, and when he comes to Mexico
he has you. You're not the most important woman in his life, you're just convenient,
Yauria.
DEWEY
(to Hess)
You dick.
Yauria is near crying.
YAURIA
(to Dewey)
Hand me your keys.
Dewey complies, knowing how mad she is. He fishes the keys out of his pocket and hands them over.
YAURIA
Goodnight, Lane.
Yauria walks off the back patio.
LANE
I'll catch you around.
Hess takes a seat and smiles at Dewey and Tamaledo. Lane waves to Yauria and then pats Dewey on the back.
LANE
Sorry I can't give you a lift bro, I just have my ten speed.
Lane steps off the porch, grabs his bike and rides into the night. Hess takes a seat with
a smile on his face.
HESS
(to Dewey)
Have a good walk.

GRICEL
Not bad! You are good in bed!
THE CAPTAIN
I try to be considerate and attentive.
GRICEL
You were wonderful. The best I ever had.
THE CAPTAIN
Thank you, Gricel.
GRICEL
Well I think I'm gonna call my sis.
Gricel jumps out of bed as The Captain tries to grab her.
INT. THE CAPTAIN'S MANSION- KITCHEN- NIGHT
Gricel paces the kitchen as her call goes through. Leidy answeres.
GRICEL
(into phone)
Hey, let me talk to Jazmine.
LEIDY
(into phone)
Gricel? Jazmine is in Mexico looking for you!
GRICEL
(into phone)
Looking for me? I'm fine Leidy.
LEIDY
(into phone)
Ok. Are you with The Captain?
GRICEL
(into phone)
Of course, he's right here.
LEIDY
(into phone)
You have to get away from him, Gricel. He's gonna kill you.
GRICEL
(into phone)
Oh shut up, Leidy.
LEIDY
Jazmine has told me everything, you need to get out of there right now.
GRICEL
Leidy, I've had a tough couple of days, I don't need your jokes.
LEIDY
(into phone)
Hello? Hello?
CUT TO:
INT. RV- DAY
Satan holds a phone up to his mouth and speaks with Leidy's voice.
SATAN
I'm just messing with you. So are you having fun?
GRICEL
Talk about scaring me. Yeah, I'm having a lot of fun. Where's Jazmine?
SATAN
You know her. Out on a date.
GRICEL
I'll be home in a couple of days.
SATAN
We'll see you then.
GRICEL
Take care.
Gricel hangs up as The Captain moves in to hold her.
THE CAPTAIN
I told you everything was fine.
GRICEL
I should have trusted you. I can trust you, can't I?
THE CAPTAIN
You can trust me.
CUT TO:
EXT. HIGHWAY- MORNING
Sheila and Boxhead walk along the side of the road.
SHEILA
Oh me paws are burning and it's only seven o'clock.
CUT TO:
EXT. WESTERN UNION OFFICE- MORNING
Dewey and Tamaledo walk out, Dewey has a handful of cash.
DEWEY
Damn is it nice to have money.
TAMALEDO
(in Spanish)
The money you have in your hands could feed my family for two years.
DEWEY
Well I fucked up, Tamaledo. This is gonna cost me. I'm gonna show Yauria how much I
love her, but let's go get some beer, first.
CUT TO:
EXT. REAL ESTATE OFFICE- DAY
Frame of the office with a large sign with a photo on it of the man we will call THE REAL
ESTATE AGENT.
INT. REAL ESTATE- OFFICE
Dewey and Tamaledo sit across from the Real Estate Agent.
DEWEY
I want to see a list of the twenty five most expensive homes for sale in Puerto Vallarta.
I'm in the market to purchase today.
REAL ESTATE AGENT
And you are?
DEWEY
I'm Dewey Beers. Oh and this is my friend Tamaledo, I don't know his real name, but I
think Tamaledo fits. He answers to it.
Dewey cracks a beer.
REAL ESTATE AGENT
Senior, you must forgive me, but what you ask is insane. You cannot purchase a home in
Mexico like this. You are an American, there are rules we must follow.
DEWEY BEERS
I have seven million eight hundred thousand dollars in this bank.
Dewey hands The Real Estate Agent a checkbook.
DEWEY
That doesn't make me the biggest cock in the bar back home, but I figure I'm a real player
here.
REAL ESTATE AGENT
Senior Beers, you must be joking with me.
Dewey pulls a business card from his wallet.
DEWEY
This is the bank presidents' cell phone. Call him.
The Real Estate Agent looks at the business card. He pulls a brochure from his desk
drawer.
REAL ESTATE AGENT
Here is a brochure of our best houses on the market today.
DEWEY
Sweet, you want a beer?
REAL ESTATE AGENT
Senior it's ten o'clock in the morning.
DEWEY
Tamaledo and I are drinking, come on, don't be a bitch.
REAL ESTATE AGENT
One cerveza. While I make this phone call.
DEWEY
One? You make that call and then Tamaledo and I are gonna get you drunk, huh Tamaledo?
Tamaledo holds up a beer and smiles.
CUT TO:
INT. REAL ESTATE OFFICE- DAY
Dewey, Tamaledo and the Real Estate Agent sit around drinking and looking at brochures for
houses.
DEWEY
This is it, this is the house I want. You like it, don't you Tamaledo?
Tamaledo nods in agreement. Dewey shows it to the Real Estate Agent.
REAL ESTATE AGENT
Very nice, but are you sure? You said you had seven million dollars in this bank. With all
the fees, buying this house will cost you seven million. We have many less expensive homes
for sell.
DEWEY
This is the one. Who do I make the check out to?
REAL ESTATE AGENT
Senior Dewey, I have had six cervasas already. Allow me to pee and then you can make your
check out to me.
The Real Estate Agent takes two steps away and pees in a corner of his office. Dewey pulls
Tamaledo in.
DEWEY
This is what I like about it. See the roof. I'm gonna sit up there and smack golf balls
into the ocean all day. Hang out with Yauria and drink some beers. We got the beach right
there, you'd sell the shit of your tamales. Oh, this is gonna be a good life, Tamaledo.
The Real Estate Agent yanks the brochure from Dewey's hand.
REAL ESTATE AGENT
Senior, this is now your home. Welcome to Mexico.
Tamaledo cries and mumbles in Spanish.
DEWEY
(to the Real Estate Agent)
What's wrong with this guy?
REAL ESTATE AGENT
He cries because he misses his true love: his wife and his children.
DEWEY
You'll see her again, Tamaledo. We'll bring her down here just as soon as I get Yauria
back.
The Real Estate Agent finishes his beer and slams it on the table.
REAL ESTATE AGENT
Que mas? What more can I do for you, Senior Dewey?
DEWEY
Well we probably ought to buy furniture. I should still have some money left.
REAL ESTATE AGENT
We can buy anything you want.
DEWEY
Good, you want another beer?
REAL ESTATE AGENT
Oh Si.
Dewey hands a beer to the Real Estate Agent. They clank bottles.
CUT TO:
EXT. MEXICAN HIGHWAY-DAY
Sheila and Boxhead still walk along the highway.
EXT MEXICAN HIGHWAY- A MILE BACK- DAY
Ralph sits in the passenger side of Tranquilos's sedan as the two speed down the highway.
EXT. MEXICAN HIGHWAY- DAY
Sheila notices a car coming, she jumps up and down to hail it.
Tranquilo and Ralph pull up, when Ralph sees it's Sheila and Boxhead he motions for
Tranquilo to gun it.
Tranquilo speeds out of there.
SHEILA
Dang!
CUT TO:
EXT. MEXICAN HIGHWAY- TWO MILES AHEAD- DAY
Jazmine re-bandages Sabastion's hand.
SABASTION
Today, today will be our day to be rescued, Jazmine. And then we will find your sister.
JAZMINE
I'm glad you're staying positive. I was starting to feel like "mean old miss crummy girl".
SABASTION
You could never be a crummy girl. You remind me of my wife in many ways. She would light
up a room when she walked in and everyone felt they were special just to be with her. She
was the greatest woman in the world.
JAZMINE
How about some tunes? Let's blast some easy listening positive music all over this desert!
Jazmine tries to open the car door but Sabastion is leaning against it and his weight
won't allow her to budge the door open.
JAZMINE
Lean up, yeah just a little more-
Jazmine loses her balance and has to pull hard on the car door to keep from falling, she
pulls on it so hard it whacks Sabastion in the head, knocking him out.
Tranquilo's sedan pulls over and he and Ralph get out and walk towards Jazmine and
Sabastion.
Jazmine steps out and confronts him.
RALPH
You look like you could use some help?
JAZMINE
If you're here to rob us, you're too damn late.
TRANQUILO
My child, if you need help, we will help you.
Gabe walks up waving his bag of lizards, with his hand still in the bag.
GABE
My lizards would like to bite you.
TRANQUILO
(ignoring Gabe, to Jazmine)
What can I do for you, my child?
JAZMINE
Our car is broken and I have to find my sister before she dies, and my best friend is
freakin' high and I'm really getting discouraged right now.
Jazmine shoulders slump, Tranquilo grabs her shoulders and gently pulls her up.
TRANQUILO
That's where God starts Angel, when we can't go on ourselves.
JAZMINE
It's like a door has shut on me and I can't get it open again.
TRANQUILO
When God let's one door shut, he opens another.
Jazmine sobs, Tranquilo pulls her to his shoulder.
TRANQUILO
You just have to walk through that door and what makes life worth living is to find out
what's on the other side.
Ralph has moved to the hood of Sabastion's car. He looks at the engine, doesn't really
understand any of it and decides to just wave his finger at it. It starts.
Jazmine turns her frown upside down, gets up and rushes over to Ralph and the running
engine.
JAZMINE
You are so amazing! What was wrong with the engine?
RALPH
You just had something loose. I tightened it, little girl, so you should, uh, be on your
way now.
JAZMINE
But, what was loose?
RALPH
(on the spot)
The gas tank?
JAZMINE
Huh! Good deal, thanks dude.
Tranquilo comes from his sedan with gifts and looks down at Sabastion who is just starting
to wake up.
TRANQUILO
Is this man alright?
JAZMINE
Yeah I just knocked him out.
RALPH
And now we must be on our way. Good luck.
TRANQUILO
Here is some bread, may it sustain you and your companions.
Tranquilo offers her a large loaf of homemade bread. Jazmine takes it.
JAZMINE
Score, we were so hungry, how did you know that?
TRANQUILO
And wine, may it enlighten your spirits through these dark times.
Tranquilo hands over a cask of wine, Gabe goes to grab it but Jazmine takes it.
JAZMINE
I think you've had enough, dude.
Gabe staggers away and shoves his hand back in his bag with the lizards.
TRANQUILO
Go with God, my child.
JAZMINE
Thank you, Father.
TRANQUILO
I only have one request. Turn around and search no more. What you seek can surely only
bring you-
RALPH
-Padre, we've helped them, let's go. Only so much good a man can do in one day.
Ralph walks Tranquilo back to the car.
TRANQUILO
You knew what she was after when you made me stop- you're Grace! You cannot allow her to-
RALPH
-Zip it, Padre.
Ralph and Tranquilo drive away. Jazmine stands over Sabastion who is just coming to.
JAZMINE
(to Sabastion)
See what good thoughts can do? Let's go man.
Jazmine helps Sabastion climb into the passenger seat.
JAZMINE
Gabe! We're leaving Dude!
Gabe catches one more lizard, stuffs it in his bag and runs to the car.
JAZMINE
We're rocking the rest of the way dudes!
Jazmine laughs and at the end of the laugh she sounds almost like Chewbacca. She quickly
covers her mouth and her and Gabe get in the car.
Jazmine spins the radio dial until she finds Vanessa Williams's "Didn't We Almost Have it
All".
Jazmine bobs her head to the music as she pulls out and drives away.
CUT TO:
EXT. DEWEY'S MANSION- DAY
Dewey's new mansion is just off a boardwalk and overlooks the ocean. Dewey, Tamaledo and
the Real Estate Agent sit outside on chairs drinking beer as HIRED HANDS carry furniture
in. Dewey stops one man with golf clubs.
DEWEY
Golf clubs go upstairs on the roof, dude.
Dewey cracks a beer, hands one to Tamaledo and then offers one to the Real Estate Agent.
REAL ESTATE AGENT
No more for me, Senior. I'm as drunk as I have ever been in my life. I believe I may have alcohol poisoning.
DEWEY
What? C'mon, Tamaledo and I are drinking that means you're drinking.
Dewey cracks open a beer and forces it into the Real Estate Agents's hands.
REAL ESTATE AGENT
You were telling me last night, that you were doing all this for a woman?
DEWEY
The only woman for me. Yauria.
REAL ESTATE AGENT
Where is she?
DEWEY
Huh! Yeah where the hell is she? I'm gonna find her, you supervise Tamaledo.
Dewey stands up but he's wasted.
DEWEY
Ooh. Maybe I should sit back down.
REAL ESTATE AGENT
We have drank ninety some beers.
DEWEY
Yeah.
Yauria walks in from the side.
YAURIA
And where have you been, Senior Dewey Beers?
DEWEY
Hey doll, how'd you find me?
YAURIA
I was following you. We have to find a new way to kill The Captain.
Dewey pulls Yauria onto his lap.
DEWEY
Guess what?
YAURIA
What?
DEWEY
I bought this place.
YAURIA
Si?
REAL ESTATE AGENT
He bought it for you, Seniorita.
Yauria smacks Dewey in the head.
YAURIA
Where is your mind, Dewey? Why would you do that?
DEWEY
Hey, I bought it for you.
Yauria gets really quiet. She has tears in her eyes and she looks away from Dewey. She
shakes her head.
YAURIA
Estupdio, Dewey, you don't know what it is you are doing.
DEWEY
Come on inside, doll. Let's see the place.
Dewey helps her up and walks her inside.

lounge. Yauria walks in behind him.
YAURIA
Dewey Beers, you still want me, boy?
Dewey looks behind him and grabs Yauria's hand.
DEWEY
I love you, Yauria.
She punches him in the face, jumping on top of him. She punches him again, and then again.
YAURIA
Why did you say that to me?
Dewey holds her still.
DEWEY
(looking into her eyes)
Because what I see in your eyes is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen, and I don't
want to ever look away from you. I'm gonna keep you forever, Yauria Benevitiz.
She smacks him again.
YAURIA
Where is your mind?
DEWEY
I don't know, but I can tell you I love you.
She smacks him twice more.
YAURIA
And now, do you still say you love me?
Dewey pulls her close to him and kisses her. She resists and then kisses him back. She
moves away, sits on the side of his lounge chair.
YAURIA
Esta Bein, Esta bein. Esta bein. Things will change. Things will change.
One day things will change.
DEWEY
How will they change, Yauria?
YAURIA
I don't know.
CUT TO:
AN AERIAL CAMERA SHOT- MOVING OVER MOUNTAINS AND VALLEYS
Sabastion's car is toasted on the side of the road, smoke rising and launched into a
hillside.
CUT TO: EXT. A ROCKY VALLEY- AFTERNOON
Jazmine and Sabastion sit by the side of the car.
JAZMINE
Sorry about your car, dude.
SABASTION
No it's my fault, I knew I had to fix the brakes, I'm sorry I made you drive such a death
trap.
JAZMINE
It was so my bad, dude. I was the one rocking out and not even paying attention. I didn't
even see that turn coming. God I feel so awful.
Jazmine goes to touch Sabastion's arm- he winces.
JAZMINE
And I'm so sorry about your arms. They're broken, huh?
SABASTION
Yes I believe my arms are broken.
Gabe walks up, now eating the lizards. A half eaten lizard wiggles in his hand.
GABE
Uh Sabastion? Yeah these lizards will make you feel tingly and I bet if you ate one you'd feel really good.
CU: Gabe's eyes are yellow.
CU: Gabe's teeth are red with blood.
CU: The lizard wiggles in Gabe's hand.
CU: Gabe giggles again.
Gabe then retracts his offer and runs off. Sabastion and Jazmine watch him go.
JAZMINE
Ooh! We still have some bread left, and all that wine! Let's have a picnic right out here
and we'll all just be thinking some good thoughts and our luck is bound to change.
Jazmine fishes the bread and wine out and tears into the bread.
As Jazmine is about to swallow the bread- Sheila and Boxhead walk up.
SHEILA
I'll be taking that bread, little miss! Hand it over!
Jazmine gulps her piece quickly.
JAZMINE
You can't have it! We need this bread to survive!
Sheila stamps her foot.
SHEILA
OOH! Boxhead, get me that bread!
Boxhead moves in on Jazmine.
SABASTION
Touch her and I'll kill you!
Boxhead stops, frightened. He turns back to Sheila for direction.
SHEILA
Ooh, look at him, he don't even have two legs, just steal the bread from that dumb girl
and let's go!
Boxhead moves in and wrestles the bread from Jazmine. Sabastion tries in vein to move over
towards them, Boxhead yanks the bread away, Jazmine crouches and cries.
Boxhead finds the wine and holds it up.
SHEILA
Boxhead! What a feast!
JAZMINE
We're gonna starve because of you!
SHEILA
No hard feelings, miss. Thanks for the bread. And might I say you do look stunning.
Sheila and Boxhead walk away. Jazmine crouches next to Sabastion. He holds her as she
cries.
SABASTION
Don't cry, Angel.
JAZMINE
But we're lost, and I'm tired. And you don't even have two legs and I'm so hungry, and my
sister is going to die if we don't get out of here and find her.
SABASTION
(he starts laughing)
Ha, ha ha ha.
JAZMINE
Dude, what could be funny?
SABASTION
My trunk! Look in my trunk.
Jazmine slowly gets up, takes the keys and pops the trunk open.
SABASTION
My cousin uses my trunk to keep his supplies! He sells chicharones!
JAZMINE
Chicharones?
CU: The trunk is filled with bags of homemade chicharones.
SABASTION
So see, there's no reason to cry. We have plenty of food.
Jazmine digs in and grabs a few bags, she tosses one to Sabastion who is unable to catch
it and it hits him in the face.
JAZMINE
Gabe! Chicharones, dude!
Gabe is running in circles twenty yards away eating another lizard.
Jazmine holds up a bag but Gabe waves it away and continues eating his lizard.
Jazmine sits down next to Sabastion, she pops open her bag and then sees he can't eat on
his own. He opens his mouth and she pops in a few chicharones.
LOUD RANCHERO music grows. A pick-up truck pulls up. El Banda with the three female
groupies stand in the back of the truck. Vicente gets out of the back.
VICENTE
Hey amigos! Do you need some help?
JAZMINE
Oh yes! Yes we do! Our car is wrecked and my friend has two broken arms and only one leg.
Raul has spotted the cache of chicharones and leans into Vicente.
RAUL
Chicharones.
VICENTE
The big man's arms look broken.
Laughter spills from the back of El Banda's truck.
CUT TO:
EXT. MEXICAN HIGHWAY- DAY
El Banda loads up all the chicharones into the back of the pick-up.
JAZMINE
We're gonna starve because of you.
VICENTE
You might, but no hard feelings, and I might I say you do look stunning.
JAZMINE
So that's what this is coming to? You want me? Well I just don't care any more. Go ahead
and take me.
VICENTE
Not you, miss, but my girls, they like the gringo who's over there laughing and dancing
by himself.
SHOT: Gabe is high and laughing and dancing.
SHOT: The three groupies giggle as they check out Gabe.
JAZMINE
No! Not my Gabe.
CU: Each groupie smiles as she looks at Gabe.
CUT TO:
Raul and Tony escort Gabe towards the truck. Sabastion tries to bite Raul as they pass.
They load Gabe into the back, the music gets turned UP and Gabe starts dancing with the
three girls.
JAZMINE
Goodbye Gabe.
VICENTE
Bueno Suerte mi amiga! The next time we meet, I might be horny.
EL Banda drives away.
CUT TO:
INT. LEIDY'S KITCHEN- DAY
Leidy is still making calls.
LEIDY
(into phone)
I'm sorry to hear (looks at the name in the book) Mr. Winemiller passed away. No, you're
right, Mrs. Winemiller, 98 means you're father lived a full life. Thanks for your time.
Leidy hangs up and is now at the last page of Jazmine's book.
LEIDY
The Dude? Who the hell is The Dude?
Leidy calls the number.
LEIDY
Hi. Is this The Dude? Okay, great, ah you don't know me but I'm Jazmine Loya's little
sister, Leidy.
(pause)
LEIDY
I'm not calling you a lady, my name is Leidy. No it's not German. I actually think my mom
made it up. Anyhow, I'm trying to raise some cash to help Jazmine out, would you be
willing to loan-
Leidy pauses, then continues.
LEIDY
-What would you want to come over here for? Your frisbee is on my roof? Oh, hey are you
The Dude that lives across the street? Oh ok, I never knew your name. Yeah come on over,
we can talk here. See ya in a sec.
Leidy hangs up the phone and stands.
LEIDY
Think Jazmine.
Leidy does her best Jazmine impersonation with her body, her face and then says:
LEIDY
(impersonating Jazmine)
Dude! Wow. You're so cool. Thank you so much, I never would have made it without you.
CUT TO:
EXT. DEWEY'S MANSION- ROOF- DAY
Dewey stares out at the ocean. Yauria walks up to him and hands him a beer.
DEWEY
I'm done. This is everything. Fuckin' Captain who, huh? God I'm happy.
YAURIA
You're happy?
DEWEY
This is what I have been wanting.
YAURIA
Oh si?
DEWEY
What the hell is it with you and I? Why do I love you so much?
Dewey pulls Yauria to his side.
YAURIA
Cause you're mine, boy.
DEWEY
You're mine, girl.
YAURIA
I'm you're what?
DEWEY
You're my woman, and I love you so much. I want to marry you.
YAURIA
Mhh. You're gonna make me cry.
Dewey kisses her, as she kisses him back we: PAN to Tamaledo walking in behind them.
TAMALEDO
Tamaledo! Hot Tamales!
Tamaledo sees they are having a romantic moment and then walks back out.
YAURIA
Perdon, por favor.
Yauria gets up and walks out.
CUT TO:
EXT. DEWEY'S MANSION- DAY
Yauria walks out the front and down the street.
INT. LEIDY'S KITCHEN- DAY
Leidy is looking out through a sliding glass patio door to her very normal looking
backyard. THE DUDE falls from the roof and onto the lawn. He stands, brushes himself off
and walks inside with his frisbee in his hand.
THE DUDE
Got it! Thanks, Leidy.
LEIDY
Not a problem, Dude.
THE DUDE
So how much money does Jazmine need?
LEIDY
Just enough to get somewhere safe and fly back here, I was thinking three thousand
dollars?
THE DUDE
Wow. Good luck with that.
LEIDY
Yeah I mean I could probably do it cheaper. Honestly anything you could help us out with-
THE DUDE
-Thanks for my frisbee.
LEIDY
Fifty bucks?
The Dude gives Leidy a "Call Me Sometime" smile as he walks out.
THE DUDE
(V.O)
Oh hi, Joe.
JOE
(V.O.)
Hi Dude.
Joe walks into the kitchen, with a slight stagger and a smile.
JOE
Leidy, I won ten thousand dollars on the nickel slots.
LEIDY
You drunk, Joe?
JOE
Yes Leidy I am.
LEIDY
Where's the money, Joe?
JOE
Well I took a taxi back, I had to sell the truck to keep gambling, and the taxi ride was
kinda expensive.
LEIDY
Well from Las Vegas it would be. How much money do you have left?
Joe pulls wads of cash out of every pocket he has and tosses it on the kitchen counter.
Joe then heads to the refrigerator and grabs a beer.
LEIDY
I'm going to get my sisters back, Joe.
JOE
Give me a couple hours to sober up and I can go with you.
Leidy picks the money up, and letting Joe off the hook says:
LEIDY
Thanks, Joe, thanks for taking care of us. I'll be back with your daughters.
Joe watches Leidy walk out.
JOE
(to himself)
It's time to quit drinking, Joe.
Joe moves to the sink and holds his beer out to dump it but changes his mind and drinks it
instead.
JOE
(to himself)
Right after I finish this beer.
CUT TO:
EXT. SHOTS OF PUERTO VALLARTA- DAY
Gary and Selso drive into town.
CUT TO:
EXT. PUERTO VALLARTA STREET- DAY
Gary and Selso sit in traffic. Selso looks at a map while Gary smokes from a crack pipe.
SELSO
If I'm correct, and Selso is always correct, The Captain's mansion should be right around
this corner.
Gary turns the car and it leads them to a dead end in a trashy lot that could never
contain a mansion.
SELSO
Huh?
Gary sees a man walk out of a doorway and into the street.
GARY
Hey, isn't that El Professor?
SELSO
Yeah. And Butcher James.
Butcher James slips out of a window and stands up, cracking his knuckles. Hess appears in
front of the truck.
GARY
You got that Holy Water?
SELSO
We left it at the last motel.
GARY
We better get the fuck out of here then.
Gary puts the truck in reverse, Hess waves his hand and the truck shuts off, the three
move in.
SELSO
Gary?
GARY
Yeah?
SELSO
Gary, I just wanted to say that I have always had a real fun time with you. Committing
crimes and all the meanness, I wouldn't have wanted to do anything else with my life.
Gary keeps trying to get the engine to turn over.
SELSO
If I hadn't met you, I'd be sitting in a trailer somewhere eating beef stew. With a stupid
wife and stupid kids and a stupid day job. I've lived a life so much more rewarding than
that, Gary. Thank you.
Gary stops trying the engine and leans into the backseat. He hands Selso a tire iron,
taking a baseball bat for himself.
GARY
Let's not go out like a couple of pussies.
As Gary goes to open his truck door the door locks. The engine starts, the truck flies
into reverse.
EL Professor and Butcher James run towards the truck as it moves backward down the alley.
The truck backs out onto a busy street and then stalls. Cars swerve past them, horns
honking, drivers cursing them.
The doors unlock.
Gary and Selso jump out and run.

INT. THE CAPTAIN'S MANSION- KITCHEN- MORNING
The Captain finishes his breakfast as Gricel cleans up the table.
THE CAPTAIN
That was a good breakfast. Thank you, Gricel.
GRICEL
You're welcome, lover.
THE CAPTAIN
I have had many breakfasts made by beautiful women, but yours was by far the best.
GRICEL
And you get to have it again tomorrow.
The Captain frowns and becomes depressed.
GRICEL
What's wrong?
THE CAPTAIN
I was just thinking, it's a shame I don't know you better.
GRICEL
Do you mean that?
THE CAPTAIN
Perhaps, we could just talk about you for a while. I know it's early in the morning, but
would you care for some champagne?
GRICEL
OK.
THE CAPTAIN
I'm looking forward to hearing about your life. You bring me such pleasure Gricel. I think
I may be in love with you.
Gricel looks away.
THE CAPTAIN
I've made you uncomfortable, I'm sorry.
GRICEL
Don't be. You don't ever have to be sorry with me.
CUT TO:
EXT. THE CAPTAIN'S MANSION- DECK- DAY
Gricel and The Captain sit on the steps. Gricel is sipping champagne from a glass.
GRICEL
Good champagne. I'm glad I ate something, or I'd really be getting drunk right now.
THE CAPTAIN
This is your time, Gricel. Do what you like.
CUT TO:
EXT. THE CAPTAIN'S MANSION- DECK TEN MINUTES LATER- DAY
Gricel finishes another glass of champagne.
GRICEL
I know this sounds bad but I really don't care for either of my sisters. Leidy, she's back
home, she's the little brain that's never done a bad thing in her life, and Jazmine just
rides through life on her looks. I've always been the dumb older one who can still
remember what life with Mom and Dad was like.
CUT TO:
EXT. THE CAPTAIN'S MANSION- DECK TEN MINUTES LATER- DAY
GRICEL
We lost our Dad eight years ago. He was driving home from work one night, real late and
ran his car off the road.
THE CAPTAIN
A car wreck, what a senseless way to die.
GRICEL
We don't know if that killed him. They never found his body. He was just gone. We lost
everything when he died. My mom flipped out and started dating all kind of guys, drinking
everyday. We lived on nothing.
CUT TO:
EXT. THE CAPTAIN'S MANSION- DECK TEN MINUTES LATER- DAY
GRICEL
So Joe was my Mom's boyfriend for five weeks. That's it. When she asked him to move in, we
never knew why. We knew she didn't love him. She would always make fun of him and tell us
how stupid he was. And then we found out why he moved in. She left us. I was fifteen when
she walked out and Joe's been taking care of us ever since.
THE CAPTAIN
This Joe. He sounds like a good man.
GRICEL
He's got a good heart, but he's a drunk too. A good hearted one. He's just never had the
courage to make anything of himself.
Gricel finishes the bottle and hands it to The Captain.
GRICEL
So I was working at a fast food joint, and I worked there for six years. Finally became
manager and even though I had to work eighty hours a week I was making some dough.
The Captain is bored and realizes Gricel is in the zone and probably won't notice so he
gets up and walks away.
GRICEL
And then Dewey Beers pulls through my drive through. He was handsome and driving a
Corvette and he made me smile. And when he saw me smile he knew he could go for it, and
Dewey knows how to talk to women and he told me everything I wanted to hear, I hate guys
like that. Now that it's over, I think the only reason he ever liked me was because I gave
him a handjob in the parking lot his second trip through.
The Captain steps back in with another bottle of champagne.
THE CAPTAIN
Handjob? The filthy pig.
The Captain hands her the other bottle. She takes it and laughs.
GRICEL
You think a handjob is bad? Ooh, you're not going to like me. I've done so much worse than
that. I almost did four guys at a party until Jazmine stopped me. How many champagnes have
I had?
THE CAPTAIN
You mentioned Jazmine was the pretty one. Looking at you Gricel, I know that what you say
can't be true. She could never be as pretty as you.
Gricel kisses him.
GRICEL
Well maybe it's how everyone loves her so much. My mom used to send me to school in jeans
that had holes in them so Jazmine could wear a beautiful new dress.
Gricel drinks the new bottle real hard now.
GRICEL
And Leidy. You know Joe would never have stayed with us had it not been for Leidy. She's
his little angel. Even Jazmine is jealous of her. Oh, damn it. Well I'm drunk. You wanna
screw?
THE CAPTAIN
Gricel, one day I believe you and your sisters will all be friends. You've all had tough
lives, you've been through a lot. You're sisters, Gricel they will be the most important
people in your life soon.
GRICEL
Yeah, yeah, yeah, you got me drunk. If we're gonna screw, let's do it now before I pass
out.
The Captain moves in on her.
CUT TO:
INT. THE CAPTAIN'S MANSION- DAY
The Captain brings Gricel inside and walks her to the bedroom.
WE PAN BACK: Yauria stands watching them with a gun in her hand. She walks towards them
but Hess reaches out from behind her and stops her.
HESS
Don't make me do you any harm.
YAURIA
So who cares what you do? I don't, so do what you want to me.
HESS
If I have to move Yauria, you're gonna die.
Yauria realizes he's serious and gives up.
YAURIA
Fine.
Yauria walks out. Hess follows.
CUT TO:
EXT. HIGHWAY- EVENING
Sabastion and Jazmine sit next to one another as the battery on Sabastion's car gets
weaker and the lights get dimmer.
A voice comes from the road above.
BUTCHER JAMES
Do you need some help down there?
JAZMINE
(to Sabastion)
Here we go. What the hell does this dude want?
SABASTION
If you spend you're whole life not trusting people, you'll never meet any new friends.
Jazmine stands and yells up at Butcher.
JAZMINE
We need help, but I'll tell you right now, if you're just trying to rob us, we have
nothing left.
BUTCHER JAMES
Miss! I would not rob you! If there is anything I can do for you, I am your servant.
JAZMINE
Do you have a phone?
BUTCHER JAMES
At your service, chiquitita.
Butcher steps down the hill, he hands his phone out to Jazmine. She takes it and dials
home.
INT. LEIDY'S KITCHEN- NIGHT
The phone rings but no one is home.
CUT TO:
EXT. PUERTO VALLARTA AIRPORT- EVENING
Leidy stands outside pacing. She hails a cab, one pulls over for her.
LEIDY
(to herself)
I'm the brainy one? I'm the brainy one? Ok slut, ok porcelain doll, who's coming to save
you? The brainy one.
Leidy steps into the cab.
CUT TO:
EXT. DEWEY'S MANSION- EVENING
Dewey opens the front door and tosses an empty case of beer outside. He sees Yauria
sitting alone in a chair. He walks over to her.
DEWEY
Hey doll, where'd you go?
YAURIA
To kill The Captain.
DEWEY
By yourself?
Dewey moves in to hold her but she pulls away from him.
YAURIA
I don't want to get married, Dewey. I don't want to live in a big mansion yet. I want to
go and do the things I want to.
DEWEY
Don't you love me, Yauria?
YAURIA
No I'm sorry boy. I don't love you.
Yauria gets up and leaves.
CUT TO:
EXT. HIGHWAY- EVENING
Butcher James looks in the hood of Sabastion's car.
BUTCHER JAMES
This car is not moving, but I'm sure you knew that.
JAZMINE
How's your car? If you help me, we can move Sabastion up the hill.
BUTCHER JAMES
I'm afraid if I help you move your friend, I won't have enough energy left to play with my
kids.
JAZMINE
You have kids?
BUTCHER JAMES
I have hundreds of them. If you would like, I would love to show you where I have them.
JAZMINE
You're an evil dude, huh?
BUTCHER JAMES
Yes.
JAZMINE
Ugh!
BUTCHER JAMES
Relax my trophy, I never start with my desert.
Butcher falls on Sabastion, sinking his teeth into Sabastion's neck. Jazmine kicks at
Butcher but to no avail, his teeth are bleeding Sabastion to death now.
Sabastion looks at Jazmine and then despite his broken arms he bear hugs Butcher. Butcher
screams and tries to bite Sabastion again, Sabastion squeezes tighter and tighter until he
breaks Butcher James' back. The Butcher falls over dead.
CUT TO:
EXT. HOTEL- MEXICO- EVENING
Leidy's cab pulls up and she steps out.
CUT TO:
EXT. DEWEY'S ROOF- NIGHT
Dewey is looking at the ocean, Tamaledo cracks a beer and hands it to Dewey.
DEWEY
I'm gonna forget about her, Tamaledo. That's what Dewey's gonna do. Get a girl that makes
him forget about Yauria Benevitiz. Oh God! I do love her so much! How many beers do we
have?
TAMALEDO
(in Spanish)
One hundred and sixy five.
DEWEY
That doesn't sound like enough. We better get some more.
CUT TO:
EXT. A CAVE- NIGHT
Not far from the road Jazmine drags Sabastion inside.
CUT TO:
INT. CAVE- NIGHT
Sabastion comes in and out of consciousness
SABASTION
Jazmine, I'm not going to make it. I have a favor to ask before I die.
JAZMINE
Anything you want, Sabastion.
SABASTION
Don't laugh.
Sebastion leans forward, puckers his lips.
SABASTION
Kiss me once before I'm gone.
Jazmine leans forward and quickly kisses him. She moves back.
SABASTION
Thank you.
JAZMINE
Thanks for all you're help.
SABASTION
I've enjoyed helping you.
JAZMINE
See you in the morning.
SABASTION
En la Manana, Jazmine, if I'm still here.
They both lay down.
CUT TO:
INT. A DANCE CLUB- NIGHT- NIGHT
Yauria and Lane sit at table talking. El Banda plays on stage.
LANE
How do those guys expect to kill The Captain when they keep stopping to play gigs?
YAURIA
You wanna dance?
LANE
We better get our plan together first.
YAURIA
What's to plan? We show up and you cut The Captain's head off with this.
Yauria picks Lane's sword up off the table.
LANE
You're not much of a women's libber are you?
YAURIA
No.
LANE
Do you know what that means?
YAURIA
No.
LANE
Well let's dance.
